I bought this headless bass used and the seller didn't have any information on who built it. He said he bought it as a Status Bass. But there is no markings whatsoever on it to identify it. So it might be custom built after all. All i found is that it supposedly uses Rockinger ABM mechanics form the 1980s. And Vintage Bartolini Humbuckers. The electronics look super custom as well with options to adjust the sound. I had to replace it though because i couldn't figure out how it's supposed to be installed and it seems that it had been messed around with before. Does anybody have any idea where this bass comes from?

I'm no help, but I'm just posting to say it's extremely cool and getting subscribed so I'll know if someone knows what it is.
Yeah, it doesn't look like any Status I've ever seen, but it is cool looking and those are high-quality parts.
The extra routing in front of the bridge and the atypical pickup rings make me think it might be home made. It's definitely not something I recognize. Curious to see if anybody else has insights. You should ask here:

This is one of those times having a headstock would be helpful!
It looks like an early Laurus Stylish bass, handmade in Italy in the middle of '80s.

Looked into it and it could be a Shack Preamp.
It does look like a Laurus Stylish from the 80s yea.
This might be an early Magnus Krempel Bass ([This invalid link has been removed]). Can't tell for sure, but yours, share some design characteristics with some of his later models.
