help with bass setup?

so I had no idea what "real" fret buzz sounds like and I just play my bass not knowing what fret buzz really sounds like.
when my play if i just lift it up it buzzes a little, is that normal? my action is low and I just wondering is there a way to make minimal to no fret buzz at all while keeping my action low?
the first fret has the least while when you get closer to the 20th then u get a little more buzz.

overall, my question is how do I make my bass [Fender MIM Jazz 4-String] super playable and keep the action low with little to none fret buzz?

i have a similar issue. my friend set up my ernie ball, and hes a legit jazz bassist...it has a super low action...and it buzzes. he says i need to adjust my technique...but i mean cmon, buzz is buzz, right?

eh...i believe its possible. i wouldnt know how to do it though

yeah. my bass is super low too like less than a cm near the 20th fret.

i adjusted my technique to soft playing and ill guess that'll work.
except my amp sucks atm so i guess ill be digging in harder.

To have super low action, you need you frets to be perfectly level. Most manufacturers just can't take the time to get them perfect - they'd go out of business if they did. If you want super low action with no buzzing, the only answer is to have a fret level and full set up done.

Also helpful is to use heavy gauge strings, which don't vibrate as much, and are less prone to causing fret buzz.

For the record, my bass (which I refretted recently) has an action of .045" on the treble side, .055" on the bass side, with only .005" relief. No buzzing anywhere, with super heavy gauge strings.

None at all when playing with my normal technique. Some people who play hard might need to raise it a bit, but for me it's perfect.

I see. I guess I'll slowly perfect my setup with tweaks here and there. I guess just like a little fret buzz is fine for a teenager that set it up with only a years knowledge of bass .
