Double Bass Help with Christian McBride Transcription!

Hello All,
I am a student at Booker T. Washington Arts Magnet in Dallas. This year I played bass in the 2nd jazz combo and it was a lot of fun.
I am working on transcribing the song “Brother Mister” by Christian McBride off of his album Kind of Brown. I have the melody and the bass line written out already, but I am having some trouble on finding the right chord changes. Here’s the chords I have so far:

D maj/E | E7 | D maj/E | E7
G maj9/ A | A7 | D maj/E | E7
Gb maj9/Ab | Ab maj9/Bb | Bb maj9/C | C maj9/D

Any ideas or suggestions on how I could improve what I have?

I hear the last 4 bars as all sus4 chords:Ab7sus4,Bbsus4 etc.
My 2 cents.

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't Gbmaj9/Ab a voicing for Ab7sus4? So essentially, you both hear the same thing!

Gbmaj9/Ab = 1:Gb 3:Bb 5b maj7:F 9:Ab --- then Ab in the bass.

Ab13sus4 = 1:Ab sus4b (5:Eb) 7:Gb 9:Bb 13:F
