Can someone help me out here?
A lot of things with The Nerve were handled by the other guy I was in it with. Registering our domain was one of them. Now that we've disbanded I want to keep the site up and our domain name is due for renewal. Tomorrow. We registered it with network solutions. It's a .info domain and my ex-bandmate is telling me it's $35 for the year to re-register it. He wants to turn it over to me but says I'd have to give him my credit card info in order to do it. He's not the kind of guy who would rob money from me - but he IS the kind of guy who does things in not the best possible way, often - that's the main reason we're not in this together anymore. Anyhow...
It is my belief that domain names cost around $15 a year for a .com, and .info is supposed to be even cheaper. Is this true? and if so is there any reason they might be charging him $35 + tax for a 1 year renewal on a .info? most importantly - how can I get this all put in my name??? He's willing to switch it all over to me, he just seems to not know what he's doing. I don't either. Help?
I know I can simply call myself, but I want to be armed with some info if I want to (or can) use another company, and I'd like to know for sure if $35 is some sort of rip off.
Thanks.
