help with EH bass microsynth... cuts out?

my notes cut out at about the 5-7 second mark which really sucks for sustain obviously.
any thoughts on this? is it a malfunction or built in design?

Which version do you have?
At some settings the cut out is normal, but there's a gain trim pot you can adjust if your instrument output is low.
I run a compressor in front of mine (a reissue of early 00s) and it gets better.
I use a compressor anyway, just for sustain.

But I guess is the nature of the circuit.
I feed it with a strong signal (pickups + compressor), but it only postpones the shut-off. No smooth fading. I'm trying it just now...

You can adjust the trigger slider to optimize the input signal, but the signal may not be hot enough for the sustain you want.

And correct, no smooth trailing-off of notes.

5-7 seconds is a pretty good sustain from an analog circuit of you need longer you need to add a comp, or sustainer or other drive pedal.

thanks... i run a compressor before it hits the synth. not sure which version i have but i don't see anything indicating a gain trim. guess i'll just hit my delay post synth and deal with it that way...

Built in design. It's just how it is.

Using a compressor with the sustain maxed helps plenty. Play lightly too.

I use my EHX BMS and Boss CS-2 to emulate the Moog Taurus on The Police's "Don't Stand So Close to me".

Did we determine that the pedal was opened and internal trimpot adjusted yet?
I know that helps to trigger. Not sure it would increase sustain by a lot.
