Help with ibanez 4001 Rick Clone

hey anyone know anything about this bass, i couldn´t find anything about the serial number in the back, i heard Ibanez Ricks are good, im getting ir for $470 good price?

Can't tell from the pics the letter before the number, but (IIRC) the letter would tell you the month of mfg. (i.e. A=Jan, B= Feb, etc.), the 79 would indicate the year of mfg.
Pretty sure that's how Ibanez did it back then.

Looks almost exactly like my old Ibanez Ric. Think I paid ~$250 for mine, but that was a long, long time ago. Not sure of the current market rate.

Hi.

The history on Japanese manufacturers is unbelievably scarce, but I've read that my Herby is probably a predecessor to these Ibanezes.

Mine is a wonderful instrument, even though I bought it without the headstock back in the day. Repaired (badlyish), it has fooled some so called experts into believing it's the genuine article.

I've heard reports that the magnets on the pickups weaken over time, but I haven't noticed anything like that on mine. And even if they did, remagnetizing 'em is cheap.

AFAIK the bolt-ons go for that kind of prices, so for a NT, that is a good price.
