Help with Les Paul style wiring

I have this bass I am trying to get working. The idea is 4 knobs wired sort of like a Les paul- VVTT, but with push pull volume pots to mute each pickup (instead of a 3w switch), series resistor treble bleed, and no load tone pots.
Right now, either of the two push pulls mutes the signal.
Turning either volume knob down completely mutes the signal.
I can hear the no load pot clicking in and out just past full on and the tone circuit appears to be working

I drew this diagram of how its wired. I kind of interpreted a few diagrams to get to this but clearly something has went wrong. Not drawn on the diagram but everything is bonded together and terminated at the ground on the output jack

Looking at this again, do I need to send the hot from each volume pot right to the output jack rather than jumped together how they are now?

Oh and please judge my wiring as you wish, I welcome any feedback. but this bass was a complete trainwreck when I first opened it so this is at least a full order of magnitude better than how it was before

i don't own a les paul so i can't check, but the last one that came through the house acted as your instrument does -- when both pickups are on, turning the volume of one down mutes the signal completely. i googled the issue when the guitar was here, and it turns out that's how they are.

That’s how Les Paul or “Gibson style” wiring works. If you turn one volume all the way down all the output shuts off. You could change the volume pots so the pickup input is on the middle tab and the out to the jack is on the end. I think that will fix the push pull mutes also if they’re before the volume pot. That will alter the tone and function of things slightly as well but possibly not enough to notice.

I see. i swapped the two signal lugs on both volumes and it still mutes the signal when the push pulls switch.

i found this for a 4 knob setup and for the sake of getting this done im just going to change it to that. This bass is cursed

Its still strange wired like that. the push pulls mute all signal unless the pot is turned less than full on. It sounds noticeably better than how it was wired before so Im just going to leave it rather than rewire this for a 3rd time in a day. Heres how its wired now.

Hmmm… there’s probably a way to fix that but I’m not sure what it is. I’d have to have it here and play with some wiring options.
