Help with percussive slapping :)

Hi,
I've been playing bass a good few years now and can slap pretty well, but before now I've never had reason to experiment with the idea of percussive slapping, and I just can't get the hang of it.

The particular technique I've been attempting is used by Fieldy (KoRn) in the song 'Got the life'.

Anyone that can shed light on any forms of percussive slap will be in my debt :)

yess...

plus technically his slapping hand just hit right on the string and bounce off...

it's more percussive sounding than the technique that involves to kind of pluckin the string. ( like the double plucking were you hit the string on the descending and uprising motion, using your thumb like a pick )

Also on the fast movements, i think he hit with the thumb and after with the pinky palm side of the hand, just rotating the wrist so both side hit the strings alternately...

One of my friends was in an tribute to korn band and show me this... we was pretty good at doing this and it sounded pretty much like the original...
