Help with string ID

Hello. Can anyone help me ID these strings? They are flat wounds with purple silks. This set is 45-105 4-string. Best I can come up with is GHS brand. Likely they are more common and less exotic type brand such as 77's, Ernie Ball, D'Addario, Fender. Appreciate help.

Flatwound with purple silk at both ends = Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats.

GHS Precision Flats do have purple silk as well, but only at the tuner end.

Just to make sure they are in fact EB Cobalt Flats, can you measure the length of the E string from the ball end to the start of the silk at the other end? It should be around 37" - 37.25". Thanks.

Good info. Thanks. I can't measure length but all my strings are long scale (think Warwicks). I misspoke so this may be important. The scale is 45-100 (not 105). That may limit choices to Ernie Ball Group III flats, Ernie Ball Slinky, Ernie Ball Cobalt, or D'Addario XL Chromes. Glad to rule out the silks on one end for GHS. Getting there.

FYI...

Ernie Ball "Slinky Flatwound" and "Cobalt Flats" are one and the same; two different names for the same thing.

Ernie Ball "Group Flats" are stainless steel flatwound. The same with the D'Addario Chromes.

OK. Thanks for the EB clarification. By the pics can you tell if they are stainless? Do the EB group flats have purple silks on both ends?

I am a luthier and these whatever-they-are strings last forever and have the overall range I like. I only play and build fretless these days and, coupled with newer Delano Xtender pups, I sold all my store-bought basses. Life is really good. Now if I could just stock up on these strings....

No, the ones in your pics are EB Cobalt Flats (aka Slinky Flatwound).

Thanks dude. You were correct. Ernie Ball Cobalt flats. FYI, I find these to be easily accessible and last a long time as I play every day.
