Well, I started another thread asking for reverb pedal recommendations and that thread turned into such a good convo with lists of reverbs and great suggestions that I didn't want to hijack my own thread and ruin that discussion.
So I started this to ask for some tech support from you TC Hall of Fame owners. I snagged a TC HoF on eBay and I'm been trying to mess with firmware updates and TonePrint samples, etc. I followed the instructions to the letter (as far as I could tell). i.e. no other programs running, plugged the USB in first, held the button down, plugged the AC adapter in, LED turned green, etc. but my computer won't make the pedal available!
I assume that it detects it somehow because I hear the li'l conga drum thing when I plug it in or unplug it. You know that "ding-donk!" tone it makes when USB devices are connected or disconnected. Also, the pedal shows in my Device Manger as "Hall of Fame" but most other details are missing. I doesn't show up in my drive list under My Computer and it doesn't show in my task bar. I cannot select it in the pull down menu of the Firmware Update program. When using the TonePrint program, the "Send to Pedal" button is grayed out.
I accessed TC Electronics support and Help files and I followed all those instructions but nothing has worked for me. I know there are some bassists on here who are wicked smart about Windows based systems so I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to get my computer to detect the device correctly.
FYI, I'm running:
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64-bit
(I recently updated all the critical updates and did a restart)
on a Toshiba Satellite A665-S6050 (if that helps at all)
I'm connected via WiFi
Anyone else have trouble with getting the pedal interface working?
Advice?
