Hey guys. I got a dilemma that needs to be fixed. I play in a band with two guitars and a singer and drummer obv. Its rock poprock stuff (Link Removed) I think our live sound is very sloppy. The setup is rhythm guitar to the right of the drummer. Me right next to the drummer on the left side(high hat side) and then lead guitar on the other side of me.

The guitars like to 'point' their amps inwards when we play in small spaces(which is alot of the time) I have heard that the speakers should all be pointing straight out.

I would also love for everyone to have their own freq slot but how do you go about that with tred/mid/bass knobs on a guitar head. I have a graphic eq so its no prob to me. The guitars also play very bass heavy signals could this add to the mush of our live sound.

But basically im looking for any kind of live sound benchmarks to follow along with advice that will make us sound tight and clean live.

I have ran into that w/ guitar players...They usually want to over amp a room.Sounds like you are playing tight places to begin with.And I see no need to use the guitar amp as a stage monitor. If they are too loud pointing the cab to the room..guess what it's going to be too loud for the stage.
Guitar players are a different bunch..I know I'm a "converted one".....Just try to keep your sound clean and locked in w/ the kick....you can't tell them anything anyway.So I would work on keeping my side of the stage clean..remember there are other lowenders out ther watching you..so keep it tasty .

Hey Man,
Me again...sorry about the guitarist troubles!I think it just comes w/ territory.Dig this ...they really go nuts in a CONTROLLED situation.!!When you got a good soundperson working FOH mix...the engineer will get all over their case w/ stage levels. I got a buddy toured for years w/ a Sansamp and a Strat....he was in an up and coming Latino act ..don't remember the name but tey were openers for a lot of headliners and did a ton of package shows....he could carry his whole"rig" ..on the airline with him..in one Levys gig bag.
It's all about maturity..or I think so anyway ...Like Ike Turner said..."If they ain't playing TOGETHER ..they ain't playing together.
I hope the future brings more mature cats your way..sounds like your head is screwed on straight..think of it as a stepping stone experience to the next thing.
