Hercules can't handle a 7 string

I grabbed a Hercules double stand off CL but it doesn't hold my 7 stringers. I don't think it would even hold a 6 unless it was super skinny, but I don't have one to test. Oh well. I have a 4 and 5 that sit on it quite nicely. Maybe it's because Hercules is only half god.

Nah, it's because real music is played with nothing larger than what can fit in those great :cool: stands. :bassist:

Waiting for a Hercules rack at the moment, but in the meantime, I've found my 6 fits comfortably in a stand that's otherwise too small for it if I put the neck in at a 45 degree angle or so, and then turn the bass once the edge of the neck is in the stand.

Hercules stands don't work fer my ERBs, either. Luckily? There are far less expensive, more reliable solutions. The ten dollar GC stands do quite nicely, thank you very much. Another weakness of the Herc double an triple stands? Take one bass off and the stand tips over...

I've owned the triple and still own the double, and neither tip over by any means other than what would tip over any other stand.

Man? I am not bein mean or nuttin, but I have had the exact opposite experience. Both the Double an Triple Herc stands I have owned have fallen on me when removing one bass guitar and leavin another. Could it have been operator error? Faulty stand? Possibly. But? I have played a long time, have a lot of experience, and WANted to like and use these stands. They were gifts. From someone special. I tried to look at the stands, see if I could fix the issue, which seemed to be related to the legs and their orientation to the hangars. But, this was a long time ago, 5-10 yrs. And? I have had the issue with other companies' multiple hang style stands. I use big, heavy basses, especially back then. There coulda been a lot of things. But? I did have the issue. And it is why I use different style stands today. And won't entertain usin Herc stands. Glad yers is workin fer you, however. Hopefully the OP's will work for him.

So far so good for me. I haven't had any issues with it trying to tip over when one bass is pulled off. I have some regular single stands I'm using for my 7s. I was just hoping I could bring it to gigs where I use my 7s, but oh well.

I use to think the same thing. I was playing on a flat bed trailer one time and had a double stand holding two basses. I took one off the stand to tune it and a gust of wind blew the other bass away from the bottom rest support causing the bass and stand to fall off the back of the trailer onto the pavement below. Took two quarter size chunks out of my Lakland pictured in my Avatar.
