He's lying!!!

Cut to the chase. We've got a conspiracy on our hands.j/k!!

To this day,I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE(!!) that a bass (a P-Bass,to top it off!!) can have this kind of tone.Articulate highs, definition out the ying-yang.All that, with P-U-N-C-H.Wait.Wait.....Are you ready???WITH.....FLAT WOUNDS!!
Yeah, yeah.I know. Some of you are thinking,"Dummy,we all know that!"Well,I'm sure someone doesn't know it.
Well,IMHO,I think this should be investigated by the "Tone Police."

Not to get into a debate, mind you. But,I've been playing (very seriously, btw) for 30+ years and have had quite a few P-Basses in my time.
Basically guys, what I'm saying is that type of tone IS NOT akin to P-Bass.AT ALL!!You all know that as well as I do.I mean how many P-Bass players do you know that gets that tone (or,something remotely close)??
That tone,in my book, belongs under the "round wound category".I think you all (you should, anyway!!) agree,in that regard.
Oh God.I think I've put myself into a B-I-G debate on this one!!
But,that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!

sorry millsbass5, it's very much a P with new flats tone... New flats are easily as bright rounds.

Beyond that... the tone is in the players hands. Perhaps your hands don't make a P sound that way.

James,I actually couldn't agree with you more about it being in the players hands.
But,All I'm saying is if someone were to pull that clip up and let you listen to it without you knowing any details of his gear,I figure you'd think it was 'wounds, too.Agree???

Peace,
Steve

I dunno about everyone else but I do know that it sounds like a P-bass with a chorus pedal and new flats...maybe some old rounds even. :D I don't know if you have some hi-fi computer speakers and maybe my stock JBL's have seen better days...but that's what I hear coming through them. :smug:
