Just thought I'd introduce myself--I live in Western Michigan, and have gigged on electric bass, double bass, organ, tuba/sousaphone, euphonium, trumpet/cornet, and the clarinet.
Recently the electric bass has been calling to me again--looking to get up to speed on what equipment is held in high regard these days before heading out and play-testing new gear.
Incidentally, I see the gear I learned to play on back in the early '80s--a borrowed Ibanez Black Eagle bass and Fender Super Six combo--are valuable collectibles today. Heh, heh, how times have changed--the Ibanez was considered a cheap knockoff and the Fender was just old unreliable tube junk back then! Both the Ibanez and Fender were thusly thrashed on without any mercy whatsoever...
