Hi guys. Pete here from Kent in the SE of England. 55 years old and a bass player since I was 14.
I come from a rock/pop background but, of course, do love the funk!
Typically for my age and era my heroes are James Jamerson, John Entwistle, Jaco, Pino Palladino, Andy Fraser, Ronnie Lane, Norman Watt-Roy, Bruce Thomas, John Paul Jones, Bernard Edwards...etc etc. There are just so many wonderful bass-players.
As for gear...well I am in the process of selling 4 basses and three cabs. I have just bought and Orange AD300B head and am awaiting delivery of of a Barefaced Big Twin. I have for the last 8 or 9 years been using MarkBass gear and in fact will be keeping my LittleMark II as I must own up to being a tiny bit nervous about using an all tube amp again after so many years. Assuming I sell all the basses I have available I will be left with a 1990 EB Musicman Stingray IV, two band EQ. An Ibanez Artcore semi-acoustic and an Ibanez EB10E electro-acoustic. I would dearly love to get a Gibson Les Paul bass and am always on the lookout for the 'perfect' Fender Precision.
