After playing just a little electric bass for the last 40 years I took the plunge and bought myself my first upright for my 50th Bday. I play mostly Old Time and Bluegrass music. I bought a new Shen SB88 and had it set up by Bob at Bass Violin Shop in Greensboro. I am having a ball playing along with CDs and can't wait to take her to a jam after Thanksgiving.

I play entirely by ear and have played the guitar since I was 10. Also recently picked up the mandolin and I am having fun with that too.

The Shen purchase was made based on lots of reading done here and a lack of local basses available to try. Bob spent time getting her set up to work for me and I left happy and within my budget.

A new adventure begins.
