High action BEAD, still fret-buzzing D string.

I went and strung my 4 string bass .120-.55, and tune it B-E-A-D. The nut and the intonation are spot on, but I had to loosen the trus rod (coming from a dead flat straight neck approach, I find that... new). Fret buzz at 12th fret and some higher became a huge issue, so I rised the string at the bridge a little. Still, my D string (now, the thinest) is fret buzzing at the higher frets, and I don't wanto to rise it anymore. Should I do something wih the neck, maybe raise the relief a bit more? I'm lost here and could really apreciate your help.

.055 is too small for a D string. It'll move too much which is why it buzzes. I use .130-.105-.085-.070 on my BEADs. Heavier strings will vibrate with less amplitude and you can get the neck straighter and action lower.

What are the other gauges between the .120 and .055 ?

As stated, your gauge is really light, my B is a .130 and my D is a .65, that will cause some problems.

I would also suggest giving the bass a proper setup instead of adjusting things on buzz and feel, start by setting your outer string heights and get a good radius on the inside strings. Then set your relief properly, and work from there.

I use Jerzy Drozd's guide in combination with Fender's setup guide and tunemybass.com's setup guide. Give Jerzy's guide a good read, then setup the bass properly. It might get better but it will be hard getting a good setup with those tensions.
