As much as I love Benaventes, the uber-quilt 9 string is the absolute height of "lack of taste" when applied to building. It's kind of along the same lines as a 1st grader doing a craft and putting gold sparkle all over the entire paper.

EDIT: Oh, the attachement is a fiver. Al Caldwell has a 9 banger he uses with Vanessa Carlton with the same uber-quilt thing going on. But yeah. Total lack of taste in both basses.

actually, I didn't know the fretboard was going to have that kind of figure when I ordered it from Fred! to answer your question, though, nope. no figure in the neck. just plain ol' maple! thanks for the nice words, MM. I can't wait to hear this baby!
