Hofner Neck Compared to JMJ Mustang Bass

Hello friends,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Hofner Ignition and/or Contemporary series are similar in feel to the JMJ Mustang Bass neck?

I'd like to add a Hofner to my collection - I still haven't decided if I want to go the Chris Wood look or the Tina Weymouth look.

I know the scale length is the same.

I don’t have a JMJ but I have a ‘66 Mustang that it was patterned after, and I have a Hofner ignition club. The neck profile and width of the two are pretty similar, but the fretboard radius is quite different. I think the JMJ is a 7.25” radius like the vintage mustang, the Hofner is much flatter, somewhere in the 14” radius range. That said, my club is a fantastic player. I don’t find a major difference between the two in terms of feel.

I have both. For me the small size and greater depth of the violin body with its more parallel string spacing makes it a very different playing experience to a Mustang. The club will feel more like a "normal" shaped bass.

The JMJ is a 9.5" radius. It apparently was the main change to the neck from the 60s original.
