Hofner Shorty Bass

Hey All,

I am in the market for a smaller bass for home practice. I don't always like taking my stage basses out because of size etc. I noticed that Hofner do a smaller bass. I was thinking that this would be good for home practice.

Does anyone have one of these or played one? I'd like to gauge if it would be worth picking one up. Or if there are other basses on the market that would suit, let me know.

Cheers

What's your max budget?

Kala makes some very short scale basses:[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I played a Hofner Beatle bass for several years(see avatar). It's very light and easy to play. The neck is not very wide(don't remember the neck with).

IMO/IME, it would be very handy to keep set up on a stand so you can pick it up whenever you like. It's hollow body so you can hear it okay without an amp.

I had dead flats on mine. It sounded good and thuddy. :-)

I moved on to Jazz bass because I got fed up with stage neck dive. This does not affect practicing while sitting.
