Hofner Violin Bass

I owned a new one in the spring of 1966. Bought it in Germany. It was good but I still prefered my 62-63 Fender P Bass. The economy took care of the Hofner when I moved to the USA in 1967. I sold it for $400 US$, having only paid $125 in German money for it. Mine did not have the drop neck. It felt good when I played it. Came with flats if I recall correctly. Had to re-tune every few songs though. That's when I noticed Sir Paul would begin almost every show with one, play two songs, and then change to another bass. I've always felt that the tuning issue was what brought that on.
