Might I ask, how did you smooth out the top after sawing it? The wood seemed to have some pretty gnarly saw marks.

In the same way as in the first photo. Milling machine
on 'skis' performs the role of the thicknesser.
After gluing and cutting form I pasted three wide sheets of P40 abrasive paper onto the table and simply moved the workpiece along it.
Here the mahogany part is shown but also with the walnut I did the same thing
Then a bar with a smaller sandpaper wrapped around it...

Wow, that homemade finish really makes the neck colour pop! The body shape reminds me of an old Ibanez musician. Nice job all round!
