Hooking two multifx together in stereo.

Hi,

In order to connect two multifx together and have them both in stereo I thought I have my instrument cable into a splitter box. From the splitter two mono cables to each multifx input. Then stereo out from both fx into a 4 channel mixer. And from there two xlr out to FOH.

Do you have a better solution?

That would work but be prepared for possible noise or phasing issues. Finding an effect or a multi-effect with stereo inputs may not cost any more than a mixer, splitter and cables might and would simplify things considerably.

I put together(for my guitar rig)an outlandish, Rube Goldberg* system with this:
Loopi splitter pedal, with on/off switches...

which sits on top of a pair of side by side Traynor YBA-1’s, each powering a single 12” cab, receiving each side of the summed stereo output of the DBX(send ‘C’ on the switcher could theoretically be used to go a third ‘dry’ center amp, if I’m feeling it). All levels panned/blended on the DBX, you then have two discrete parallel stereo FX lines to do either/or, or stack. Sure, it’s not a continuous sequential chain, if that’s what you might want, but it’s something to consider. You could get even crazier with a pair of stereo volume pedals in line for real time fading, but I haven’t gone there(yet).

*If you don’t know what that means, it’s an ancient pop culture reference pertaining to a comical contrived overcomplicated system that still works, in the end.

You might be better off thaking the stereo out from the Boss GT-1B running that into the Zoom MS70CDR that has stereo ins and outs. The MS70CDR has every effect except for amp models and distortions.

I failed top mention that there is a free computer editor for the Zppm MS70 called ToneLib Zoom that makes working with the pedal quite easy.

Well, it does, that’s what goes to the pair of amp heads; there are R/L RCA and XLR outputs in the back, you just need adaptors to make them 1/4”, or else use a TRS to stereo 2-conductor(like a Hosa)out of the headphone out in front to keep it all 1/4”.
