Hot Pink SX Gypsy Rose . . . well sort of

Back in 2015 I bought my daughter a
hot pink sx Gypsy Rose bass guitar .
Nearly a decade later (2021) it was time to upgrade:

Today we just received it back from the guitar shop where it has had a few upgrades:
- new bridge pickup: DiMarzio DP148 Ultra Jazz
- new middle pickup: DiMarzio DP127 Split P
- & it now also has a neck pickup installed: a DiMarzio DP145 Will Power
- each pickup has its own volume knob
- 3 new DiMarzio 500k ep1201 volume pots
- new black bridge
- the bridge pickup has a black pickup cover
- custom black pick guard
- black tuning pegs
- and lastly all new hot pink strings.

The whole bass was gutted and rewired fresh with the 3 new volume pots and 3 new pickups.
It is like a whole new instrument.
And it sounds amazing, my daughter loves it.

That's a very sharp set of mods. The smaller pick guard shows off the 2 tone pink much better now.

I like the idea of 3 pickups with just volumes. You should be able to dial in a wide range of tones and not even miss the time knob.

What's the Will Power sound like?

What's the Will Power sound like?

The Will Power is very deep,
like for when all you want to do is play fat open strings. Probably the most bassy / low end pickup I have heard[/QUOTE]
Thanks for that.

There's a big route under the pickguard in the neck position on my MIM P where I long ago tried unsuccessfully to install a Peavey super ferrite. I might have to put a Will Power in there.

Can you comment on the output balance just between the P and the Willpower?

Great pup choice: I put a DP-127 in an SX shorty I had and was quite pleased with the results.

Unfortunately, the bass was later stolen. I was pretty bummed because it had an unusual (and, for me, particularly comfortable) neck carve and the "old style/lawsuit" headstock.
