Double Bass How bad is this?

This is a early King Mortone. Is this damage worth fixing? The seller says it's been professionally repaired. But it looks pretty ugly to me. He says he been playing it like this for years and hadn't given him any problems.

Yes, it is ugly. Question is will the repair give way, hard to tell from the photo.

I had a similar repair made to a Juzek, looks better than that one and has given me no problems.

It would be best to have a repairman look it over if possible before you buy. Good luck.

If there's a bolt or dowel thru the break, chances are it will stay together. The price needs to be adjusted downward for that damage.
