I get up at 0440 to drive 100 miles to work for a 10 hour a day job. Then it's 100 miles back to my house. I don't see much sunlight during the winter.

I drive this everyday, and I'm not surprised it made the list. It has, however, been better since about November because they finished the construction on a main portion of 490. That portion spans about five miles, and it took them nearly five years to fix.

Mine is about 5 minutes to the office...although I do service calls all over the Dallas area. So depends on where and when I have to go to a customer site.
closest on the list to me was #15 820 in Ft. Worth which is horrible any time of day, luckily only have 1 customer out that way and I can do most stuff for them via remote access.

I-66 is the crapper. Takes about an 1 - 1 1/2 hours to get to practice for the original/worship band. (Trifecta: I-395, 495, 66) Really weighing the pros/cons with that band. We've been together since last summer and our 2nd gig is in a couple weeks. (Probably my last.)
If I drive and can park by public housing, about 10-15 minutes. If I take the bus, about 30 minutes. (2.5 miles) Work/live in Alexandria. Only in DC every other month. (bus/train is 30 minutes)

Usually 10 feet as I work from home, but sometimes, like today, 2700 miles for customer visits.
In NYC for the day, on a train now to go see the family in Delaware, back to San Diego (home) on Monday. Then off to Reno NV for the day on Thursday for a quick 2 hour meeting.
I'm not complaining as I continue to feed my addiction to collect Hyatt and Marriott hotel shampoo bottles.

Fort Collins, Colorado, a town of 130,000: 15 minutes by car, 25 by bike.
My longest commute was from Clarkston, WA to Pullman, WA: 45 miles. Took me 46 minutes. Some days I saw as many as two dozen cars on the highway during the commute.

Portland made #16... my personal commute is less than 5 miles during non-rush hours. I've been in the #1 worst many times, which is why I live close to work now!
Starting walking to the bus stop at 7:40 (late), missed the 7:45, waited until 8:15, walked from drop off, got to work by 8:35. One hour commute to go 2.5 miles. Now, why didn't I drive? Oh yeah, nowhere to park.
Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads I-264 made #18 on the list, but I never have to deal with it to get to work. I'm 7 minutes or so from the back gate to the base, which is roughly 10 minutes worth of driving if I catch all the red lights.

The drivers here seem to have a real problem understanding the concept of merging into moving traffic. They also drive very poorly in the rain.

100 miles each way? wow.
In New Orleans, my commute sucked, takes 35-40 minutes for 5-6 miles.
In El Paso, I work in New Mexico, so I am going against traffic, 40 miles each way in about 35-40 minutes
My morning commute takes me about 45-50 minutes, and I never leave a 7 mile radius from my house. Most of the "commute" is dropping off my kids at their schools - including walking my 5-year-old to her class and spending a few minutes checking out her work from the previous day.
I enjoy it a lot more than when I was spening 30-40 minutes in traffic for my last job.
