How do I get a raw bass tone?

I would call "raw" a heavy rock sound - not an unaltered one.

That may be where the disconnect is on this description.

Raw by your definition would be my '63 P-Bass through my Fender Bassman and that is not what I am calling "raw".

When i think "raw" i just think a bass, and an amp. No effects to color. Sounds like you already have "raw".
