trying everyt0hin0g.... grant it i dont have the YYZ or new rush gear that was just put out . But he did not have it back than ... Im using an Ampeg SVT. That squishy bass is so sweet. Want to get that exact tone. I play 2 Fender Jazz bass guitars look at sig.

How do I get the Vital Signs Rush tone?

Your gear should be getting you a reasonable ballpark tone particularly if you're using fresh roundwound strings. Are you studying Geddy's style? The way he attacks the strings and moves his hand position to vary his tone? Are you driving your Ampeg hard enough to get some grit out of it?
@India_Sierra maybe i'm not driving it hard enough... Is that just pure amp and bass with no effects in that sound on this song. It just sounds like its compressed to all hell or something. Maybe i have the wrong listening into it. Believe me I'm trying on the style... watch and read a lot about him. Yes I see the massive movements of the note execution... where he plays at is all over the place.
There's also what sounds like a chorus effect on the bass solo. Chorus will get you close for that part anyway.
