how do i get this tone?

I've been trying to figure out how to get a tone or effect similar to the bass used in this song. Is it some sort of distortion or EQ? I've got a p and j bass and an svt-3 pro. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's a very meat and potatoes rock bass sound.
P bass, round wound strings, pick, SVT.

just start compressing the dook out of it, you'll hear it start to happen.
