How do I include images in my posts, without using attachments?

Hi! I'm sure that I'm missing something obvious here, but here goes ...

I've just upgraded to become a Supporting Member, so that I can include bigger images with my posts. Previously, I've always attached image files using the "Manage Attachments" function, but what I want to do is to include them as part of the text.

As far as I can see, the only way to do that is to enter a URL link to an internet based image. As my photographs are stored on my computer and are not "online", I can't use that option. Is there some other way? It seems that a lot of members (even non-supporting members) manage to post large pictures of their basses - so am I missing something obvious?

get a photobucket account, its free and you can upload your photos onto it then link to them like this

+100 to that! I've been doing it "the hard way" for ever, finally got a PhotoBucket and now I'm postin' pics everywhere 'cuz it's so easy and fast.

I really am to dumb to own a computer (maybe a should take up drumming ... ).

Oh well, better Google "Photobucket" and see if it's open to Europeans as well.

Ok, that was easy! I now have a Photobucket account .

But does it work? Sorry, I mean: Am I smart enough to operate it properly?
