How do I record Bass on my Chromebook?

From my understanding, Chromebooks run on flash media and not an actual hard drive. I can't imagine it being able to "store" anything as large as an audio file. The processing power might not be high enough to get anywhere. I believe these things were designed for surfing the web and basic word processing. Spend a hundo on an early MacBook (eBay).

^^ this or consider a dedicated multitrack recorder such as something in the zoom r series ( I personally recommend the r24)

You can boot into ubuntu studio using chrubuntu, then you need to upgrade the ssd to be larger (250gb should be enough), then you'll need more ram (get as much as you can) then you'll need an external USB audio processor like a focusrite Scarlett solo and a good set of headphones. That's assuming you have a chrome book with an intel CPU and not one with the Samsung SOC.
