I apologize if this has been asked before. I searched but couldn’t find an answer.

Is it possible to search the classifieds and only get back posts that are still open? For example, I’d like to search for Jazz basses that are still for sale or trade. When I search I get all posts whether open or closed.

No replies. I guess this isn’t possible. Maybe something to consider for a future upgrade?

You can set a start date for the search. It won't filter out sold basses but you can at least search what's been recently listed.

Yes this is possible. Go to the advanced search here: Search Threads and Posts | TalkBass.com

Type whatever keyword you're looking for (I like to check the box for searching titles only)

Under the section for thread prefixes: On a computer hold down Control and click For Sale and For Sale/Trade (on a Mac it's Command). On a phone I think it will just let you select multiple options.

Down towards the bottom I make sure I'm ordering by Most Recent, then I click Search.

Here's my search for Stingray with any thread with the noted prefixes, ordered from most recent: =1&c[prefix]=1+3"]Search Results for Query: Stingray | TalkBass.com

Note: If the item has sold but the seller never changed the thread prefix, it'll still show up in that search. But for the most part that'll get you what you need.

If you don't have anything specific in mind and just want to browse, just go to any of the classifieds forums and at the top right above the first listing, you can click on any of the Quick Filter prefixes and you will only see threads with that prefix.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The prefixes option was exactly what I was looking for.
