How do you bond with your bass?

I'll never forget when I was a kid and my mom glued her finger and thumb together with super glue. She didn't have any acetone, so she used a sharp paring knife to slice them apart. No blood was shed, and we all got a good laugh.

Ouch.
Keep acetone on hand for emergencies like this, even if it damages the finish.

The hand is sometimes the best clamp for the job- I can’t see the glue line.

As soon as I get it home, I change the strings, set it up to my liking, clean, polish, lube and then I play it along with Marvin Gayes Let's get it on for about 45 minutes...

I already had a post half written in my head, about low lights... some marvin gaye in the background... my body slathered with freshly mixed wood epoxy...

I super glued myself to a microscope once - working on gluing something under magnification. I didn't notice until too late (my hand was out of the field of view) that I was now one with the microscope. I ended up pulling the paint off the thing (which was stuck to my hand for a while).

If anyone ever works with super glue, I urge you to wear some kind of glasses - one squirt in your eye, and you can glue your eye to your eyelid when you blink.

Hi all
Just got this new Ibanez SR500 on deep discount from MF due to a few cosmetic defects, including one slight end grain crack at the control cavity. "No worries," says I, "superglue" says I. Note to self and others who may follow, use a clamp, not yer thumb.
Cue up "Skin Tight" anyone?
