How do you get into voiceover work?

I just thought about this today. I work for a company that does phone systems and voicemails for businesses, and when setting them up I get a lot of requests to record the company treating for them because they like my voice. It's happen a few times in just the last couple of weeks. I'm thinking of people like my voice that much, maybe I should get into voice work for commercials or something. Anyone know how to would do that? I am thinking now that it could actually be kinda cool!

I've thought about this before myself... I've been told repeatedly that I have a great voice for radio or commercials etc. I really don't agree, I just don't hear it. But if an opportunity ever presented itself to try out for something, I'd give it a shot for sure. Why not..?

Funny thing happened today. Shortly after posting this, I went to do some work for a customer that turned out to be a production comPany that does VoiceOver work. She took my card and said she would call me to set a time for me to come in and record a demo so customers can have something to listen to. Pretty freakin' weird!!!

Network, advertise yourself, record yourself reading some sample advertisements and post them as examples of your voice.
