how do you move your web portal page onto another server?

Don't know if I asked that right, but our domain name is about to come due for renewal and we want it off register.com; want to put it somewhere we can edit it at will and not be bound to their templates.

Could very well be this is quite simple, I just haven't done it before, need a little advice.
We moved our site of their server bcz they put banners on every page. Not sure what to do with the main www. ____.com page though.

can anybody advise?
Do we just register it thru another service when it's due?
Is there a way to do that before it comes due?

Most registrars will be more than happy to assist you in transfering your domain to their servers. There's a number of ways they could do this. The best way to find out how it works is to contact the registrar themselves.

I recommend www.123cheapdomains.com, they offer a simple way to transfer your domain and registration is $13.95 a year.

If we can edit our main page thru that, and configure it however we want, that might be just the ticket!
