How do you run 'rehearsals'?

On the practice/rehearsal thing...

If I'm leading non-original stuff, I'll send emails of links to the original or version I want to use as a base or direct copy with instructions, keys etc. If leading original stuff, I'll make sonwriting demos with guide drums, bass, guitar and (bad) keys (if applicable).

I expect people to learn the basics inside out before we rehearse. I don't gig often as a leader and so only want 2-3 rehearsals tops.

The keys here is pick players who you like the way they play and trust them to get the job done.

As a sidemen spanning too many decades, I've seen it all. The trick here is to play for bands you like or take the money and keep quiet.

Currently I have a few projects on the go. I am currently depping/subbing for a band where the rehearsal is an hour, it starts 10-15 minutes late and 15 minutes is wasted listening to vocal harmonies (sic). Not my trainset.

Since we gig on an average of twice per month, we run through our set list. The guitarist in our trio is also the vocalist. He calls the shots on what we practice. 75% of our material was written by the guitarist.
