I just thought that maybe other people also use whammy so what are you doing with it? I use oct up/down in few of our songs and also detune deep in one of our tunes. Just wondering if there is fellow bassplayers who use that pedal and how?
and to be specific I have digitech whammy 4, not the bass whammy.. Link Removed in the first song I play with detune.. but its mixed in the background.
Im another with the whammy 4.... love it cant get enough of it and Ive used almost everything on it in writting stuff. the detune i use as a chorus its close enough for me and the octave up and down side of it is hell fun.
I had a IV back in my crazy pedal board days. One of the coolest and most usable things I found to do with it was play it on the octave up setting, into a Boss OC-2, with some distortion. The OC-2 was set to take it back down one octave. Something about digitally bringing it up and then down again with two different pedals sounded super cool.
i use it for oct+1/-1! harmony the plus a fifth harmony or any of the whammy sections.
now when i get the Whammy DT that (hopefully) will be a completely different story what with the new bass centric whammy section what with the 4th down and 5th up. when combined with the drop tunes oct +dry shizzle will go CRAZY. although i think they missed the boat by not having the "tool" 4th down 5th up harmony. but between this and and my m5 pitch is taken care of HOPEFULLY
oh and mr marklaforest. my rhythm guitarist does the same thing but the otherwayround oc3 to a wh4 cancelling each other of it. it looks like he new whammy will be capable of that.
we are both pretty excited gets a real horrorcore tone. not so excited about the price though.
