Hello! I am ordering a Warwick Corvette 6 string bass guitar and I am curious to know what you guys think about its slapping. It has 16.5mm string spacing. I will however adjust it a bit, but I am curious to know what you guys think about the string spacing. I will be doing lots of slap on it.

How good is 16.5mm string spacing for slap?

I've got a Warwick corvette 5 and while I like the tight string spacing, and wouldn't have it any other way for my main bass, I find it interferes with advanced slapping techniques - only in that it makes it harder to get all 3 fingers under the string, and you can just about forget about double thumbing with a follow through to a double pop on the same string on any but the highest string.

its not. You have to be more accurate. Its incredible for fingerstyle. Not that you cant slap, you just have to have "alain caron" economy of movement, you cant attack it like flea.

I am no slapper, but I've messed around with slap on 16.5mm spacing and it wasn't too enjoyable.
Have you tried slapping on 16.5mm spacing?
Not for me.
Fingerstyle, it is great. Slap, too tight. My style is like Flea though, so I need lots of room.
