How is SD pups for Warwick

Hi Guyssss .....
I just bought (once again) a brand new 2008 WW Thumb 4 NT and don't think I can stand the MECs for too long as the sound is so brittle which I think it is from the active MECs. I tried to replace with what I have, its a passive Bart J split-coil but the output was too low even I turned the onboard preamp's trimmer up already.

I was thinking of getting Bassline STK J2 for a replacement as they said it is a hot wire and its suit WW rocking style as well.
What you guys think.

Thanks for your time.

A lot of people complain about the MEC preamp as being the culprit, not so much the pickups. That being said, Basslines sound great in Warwicks. Some Warwicks used to come with (and can be custom ordered with) Basslines. Another pickup to consider is the DiMarzio Model J's which also are hot in terms of output.

I tried to play passive (pull) with the OEM and still very brittle and no punch. Usually when I check the bass sound I try to run passive first. The WW at passive mode, on pre amp the sound is more or less same as with pre in so I thought it is from the pups that lost the solid sound
