The only "band" I play with has a weekly gig near downtown. We rehearsed a little bit to get started, and from then on, the leaders just e-mail us tracks they want us to learn and tell us the key. We show up to the gig ready to go.

In one band, 1-1.5, hours.
Very quick, we do a set list, and cord charts for songs that are new.
Band leader, does not like to over-play song before a gig.

Second band, your average 3 hour rehearsal.

Rehearsal ... what is this thing you speak of ?

Nights like tonite, I don't even know who I'm gonna be playing with much less "what"

Seriously ... rarely and then maybe an hour and a half tops :eyebrow:

For cover bands, that's the way I like it. I'm an old phart (experience helps), and I can do my homework!

I've got a sub gig coming up on July 4th. Never played with this band before, and the setlist they e-mailed me a couple days ago contains 20 songs I've never played before. I'm getting together with them for a brief rehearsal the day of the gig, then doing the gig. I'll do my homework ahead of time... being a low-tech guy, I use YouTube. :p
