Anyway, I used to abuse cassettes to no end. Never broke even one.

But a CD case will shatter to pieces if you accidentally look at it the wrong way.

At least you could read the bands name on the spine with the jewel cases, good luck with cardboard ones you get now.

I like them. But an ideal might be a reinforced cardboard case with a thicker spine for printing titles.

I actually have a similar background. The guys/gals that knew how to use them were VERY fast and could outpace me on a calculator, any day of the week!

They did not, however, listen to CD's

Her father did listen to CDs; he was very much into music and lived through the "Glorious Mono" era and on into the "Digital Revolution". Regarding the former, he installed a Bozak 302 inside the fireplace in 1956.

It still works fine. When we did our living room gut renovation in '17 we kept it intact.
