How Many Live Gigs Did You Play in 2024?

Just did my tax summary spreadsheet. I did 26 paid gigs last year, most ever. Its about the max I want to do. This year is shaping up to be similar.

Our Band, Talk To Mark did 5 gigs last year. (There were about 15 years from 2001-2016 when I was in a Worship band and my poll answer would reflect at least 70 gigs every year, none of those paid). We are all over 40, (a few well over 40) have day jobs and are primarily an events band, no weekly or nightly bar gigs. We are typically a Rock/Pop/Reggae/Alt Indie tribute and cover band but have 2 Original CD's out and been playing in Tampa Bay for about 17 years. No member wants to or claims to have time to do serious marketing and visit venues to pursue bookings. Im the new guy (bassist for 2 years now), and have put us on Gigsalad and gotten 5 or 6 Party/one off private leads but nothing booked from there yet. the band could easily gig once or even twice a month if individual schedules aligned. I am thinking I can put some serious effort into booking pursuits but beyond social media, I am on foot pedaling to venues as that looks to be the still best practice locally.

You may have only played five gigs last year, but I caught one of them. I was also at the Tom Petty tribute at Skipper's Smokehouse playing bass with The Warren Commission.

"If the creek don't rise and the well don't fall" I'm on track for around 130 this year based on current bookings and a weekly gig I've managed to keep since last Summer. I guess we'll see.

Three and all in the first half of the year. I'm definitely in decline.
