How much bass keyboard amp can deliver?

My keyboard player uses the Roland 550 - it BLOWS me away sometimes. I have to tell him to turn down the lows...seriously...

Yeh even the Roland KC60 The smallest of the KC range, (until last week at Nam) Can be incredibly loud without distorting. It's the functionality for purpose of use that needs looking at too. The 550 is a very different beast and almost a two man lift.
No offence, not been personal here, but I would HATE someone to refer to me as "MY keyboard player."

I'd say get it.
They appear to come with a sub output if you want to use it or if you run across a single 15 combo(use it as a sub with the Roland on top):

My son's Behringer(15 + 5 + tweeter) sounds VERY good for the price(I'm used to ACME's) as I've run a SansAmp RBI directly into the Line In. Their new line appears to clone the Rolands.

As long as it has a qaulity tweeter (not piazo, theyre nasty sounding) it should do just fine. Lots of keybboard and bass combos got them horrible piazo tweeters whose only use is some excercise in taking the said tweeter to trash can). Anyway, any synth worth a darn can easilly outdo any five string bass for low freq stuff.

Why? I would think it's fine for anyone in my band to refer to me as "my bass player," just the same as I refer to them as "my lead guitarist" or "my drummer." I'm just glad to be somebody's bass player, I guess.

It's my opinion that "The Band" is a unit which should be referred to and used at every possible opportunity as a means of promotion, there by excluding a Pre Madonna attempt. After all everyone in a band puts in, or should be putting in the exact same level of effort, rehearsing, opinions, bringing new material to the table etc; Carrying the gear, yes even the lead singer !
Wrong for someone to take the lime light, unless of course they are the "one & only Star of the show" and the band play by scored arrangements handed to them and roadies are provided! Then with hand on heart they can say “my Keyboardist, Guitarist, Bassist, Drummer, GoFor, what ever.

I blew my Eden nemesis bass combo at church

I pluged my 5 string on the Roland KC-550.

I love the sound of it's 15" speaker and it handles a good amount of volume, even with the 5th string.

This amp has like 4 inputs... You just need 1

I won't spend $600 on this amp for a bass, may do it for another applications.

If u are getting a bargain.. go for It

I have a Peavey KB300 (probably from the 80's) that I got from a friend.

This thing is amazing I tune my bass down to C!!! and it doesn't even flinch, it says it puts out 130 watts but I have never taken it above 3 or 4 because it's so loud.

I even use the gain push/pull knob to give it a little extra umph.

I auditoned for a band in October with one of these. I was in between rigs, but I really wanted to work with this band, and the KB300 was all I had at my disposal. I thought for sure the others would sniff me out as an imposter and maybe even laugh out loud.

Instead, I got the job, and the band loved the tone. They were perfectly fine with me bringing it to gigs.

I, on the other hand, quickly grew weary of it. Too much of everything frequency-wise. Just not a very focused or dedicated bass guitar tone. It does great in a pinch, but I wouldn't make it a habit.

YMMV.
