Is the price for a bass made and sold in Mexico less, the same, or more than it's sold for in the USA?

How much is a MIM P-Bass in Mexico?

That is a good question, and when they call to find the price, do they have to press 1 for Spanish?
Actually (I really don't know the reason) they are a little more expensive than in the US, not just Mexican Fenders. And it also depends on money exchange, a US dollar is now 13.37 pesos, 2 years ago, I think, a dollar was 11 pesos, so they were cheaper. And no, when we call to find the price they already speak in spanish

its because theyre made "domestically" and everyone lnows imports are junk!

In mexico the american standards are cheaper, amirite?
you can check some prices in the link below if you are curious, all prices are in pesos, some are mexican and some american, and there are some squiers too. Remember 1 us dollar = 13.37 pesos

The st j is exactly 600 bills in that link. some years ago I used to hang out at another bass forum and some guy posted about then being cheaper to buy the MIM bass in mexico. Not a lot, actually, like 30 bucks.
But, the NAFTA says there should really not be any difference because neither the usa should pay import duties ehen shipped to mexico, nor the MIm should pay them when shipped to the us.

in theory (as a former Chula Vista, CA resident) i always went to mexico because because food, booze, smokes, drugs, sunglasses, rol(L)exs',and good times were just cheaper there..why wouldnt the basses be cheaper.
I know we are talkin made in Mexico, but how about the MIJ' s? Is it cheaper to buy a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass in Japan? I always thought the MIJ's to be top shelf products.
I guess it dosen't matter much really, after all I wouldn't plan a trip to Japan just to buy a bass!

Because not all markets are the same. BTW, how much were the smokes and good times?? LOL.
If I did the conversion correctly, it looks like you can get a Standard P-Bass for around $272. I wouldn't make a special trip to Mexico for that, but if I was in the neighborhood... yeah, I'd pick that up in a heartbeat.
