How solid is Ibanez SR400?

I need to buy a bass for some line-in recording. I'm a guitarist with a high-end gear, but I do not want to spend a lot of money for bass, 'cause I'm not much of a bass player. I decided to buy Ibanez SR400 and set EMG's on it. How solid is it? Are the frets gonna be erased soon, is the neck going to bend, are the bridge and machine heads will need to be replaced?

Is it much better than Ibanez SR300?

The construction of an ibanez SR400 is good and you won't have to change the tuners or have to worry about frets. I got rid of mine because the sound lacked character, but since you're going to change pups it will sound different. will it sound better I can't answer that.
