Double Bass How to apply rosin to a bow

Hi, I was wondering if there was any proper technique or way to rosin up your bow.

I usually hold the rosin steady in one hand, and pull the bow across it, the length of the bow. Repeat 3 or 4 times as needed. If it's a brand new bow you're going to need a lot more. I usually don't worry too much though about applying it to the very tip of the bow, since I hardly ever use that area. Also, it's easier to get the rosin to actually rub into the bow, if you go off an edge of it, rather than the top of the rosin.
