A friend of mine passed away. His niece is settling his estate and he had a Lemur, sunrise Laguna bass (2007).

I don't know if I worded the name correctly, but that's actually irrelevant to my question...

When the time comes for her to try to sell his... how do you ship these things? I might add, his is in a zip bag with the velcroed on wheel dolly. It's not in a hard box.

Finding a buyer MIGHT be easy, but if the buyer is in Washington state and we're in Tennessee.... then we've got some issues, no?

I'd appreciate any input on this as we're now in the beginning stages of organizing his things (done), finding out what they are (done) ballpark values (done) and now, all she has to do is decide exactly what and how she wants to get rid of something.

I would think that you could sell that bass locally to a student or maybe a pro. I'm sure you'll be able to sell it to someone who can pick it up. I don't think I would try to ship it, myself. These instruments can be damaged pretty easily, even when packed by a pro.

Don't know where you are in Tennessee, but if there is a bass or violin shop within driving distance, you could also put it up for consignment there and let them do the sales work.

Put up an ad here and see what happens.

The Lemur Sunrise bass is Lemur Music's best selling bass. It is very popular with students, like me. I have this bass.

I would try to sell locally, put it on consignment at a local shop.

Since it is Lemur's bass, I would call or email Lemur Music. If they wanted to put it on consignment maybe they could send you one of their wooden shipping crates.

If the crate thing that Janette suggests with Lemur doesn't work out for you, PM me. I have two in storage from other companies that I'd let you have. Of course I'd ask that you'd pay the trucking freight cost on one from Denver to you.
