How to stop bass from distorting in Amplitude 3

Hey guys, I recently started using Amplitude as an alternative to my Ashdown amp for at home/at night practice, and I've found using it with guitars to be great, lots of features and stuff to tweak, but when I plug my bass in I cant seem to be able to get a clean sound... It constantly sounds like I have a synth pedal plugged in, no matter what I tweak I always get this distortion, its really bugging me as I tried recording it with Audacity and got no distortion... My bass is a Tobias Deluxe IV with active humbuckers, running DI into my PC and using ASIO as my low latency driver. Any help will be appreciated

I'd also like to add that when using the recording tool in Amplitude I get a square waveform, but not in Audacity
