How to use 2 bass amps at the same time?

Hello fellow bassists!

I just ñurchased a Accugroove Whappo, the Powered version. And i have a Hartke LH1000. I would like to run them both at the same time. I was looking into the Twch 21 Geddy Lee 2112. So i can use one XLR into the Whappo and a Line out into the Lh1000. Would that be possible?

Cheers!

The easiest way to connect the two is to use an XLR cable from the LH1000 Direct Out to the El Whappo input. The LH1000 essentially becomes a 32 pound preamp.

If you use the 2112 the LH1000 would need its own cabinet. Your description of the signal path is correct for either the rack mount or pedal version of the 2112.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the LH1000 has a 4x10 and a 1x15 Hydrive cabs.

Yeah, that sounds good! Just making the LH1000 a direct out to the powered Whappo!

The effects send (preamp out) on the amp would be the proper output on the amp to use into the powered cabinet.

There is still the 50-50% possibility that the powered cabinet will be out of phase. The symptoms of this is a decrease of low frequency response when the powered cabinet is added to the mix.

Is there a phase/polarity switch on the input of the powered cabinet?

Shoot. No pase switch on the powered cab.

i dual amp

1. I use a stereo ric 4003 with a stereo spitter box. One (bridge pickup) to one amp with my overtrive effects, second (neck pickup) to my other amp clean/compressed for my clean lows. Overdrive and Mix to taste.

2. Any bass into my darkglass adam pedal. It does a overdriven line out to one amp, and a compressed clean line out to my second amp. Blend to taste.

the adam can also blend both as one signal to a singe amp for a similar effect… but sound guys will prefer the first option if you line to the pa for them to mix/control

I’ve been looking at this as a solution for a stereo power amp with two cabs. Are there any downsides to the ADAM?

Imho listen to the photon and adam and decide what you like most. Imho the adam has more of a “massive” sound vs the a/o distortion. But i find the crazy fuzzed out settings of the adam kinda useless. I prefer the lower to moderate overdrive options.

i think either would be awesome.
- compressor
- drive
- tuner
- multiband eq
- di box (headphones out, cab sim, ipod in)
- options for dirty and clean signal out for dual amping of non stereo bass.
- oh… and new software update… a noise gate which is just amazing!

plus… with the adam i can buy a base dg a/o, b3k, x, etc and run the adam clean… and get the other effects. At the moment there is no simple version of the adam’s distortion circuit.
