Double Bass HPF-Pre 2M vs 3

I am considering buying HPF-Pre preamp. I am not sure which version to choose.
Version 3 has more drastic slope below 35Hz (24dB/oct instead 12dB/oct at 2M version) and in description it has: "Interest in a 24 dB/oct filter came from electric bassists". So I am not 100% sure is it best solution for double bass.
On the other hand version 3 has DC supply option, so I can put it into my pedalboard and not worry about battery level before every gig.
Which version would you recommend for double bass?

My take is that the Series 2 was really optimized for DB while the Series 3 is a device aimed more at EB. That said, some TB ers really like the design of the Series 3. Either box is great. Personally, I prefer the sound of the Series 2.

as far as battery power vs. plugging in goes, i wouldn't worry. i play out 2 to 3 times a month and sometimes a lot more. i only need to change the battery once or twice a year. unless you use it for every rehearsal, maybe that would be a concern but, hopefully you don't have to have an amp at every practice.

+1 I can't think of any other Buffer Pre Amp, that draws so little current from it's 9 volt battery. The Series 2 also has an red led indicator light to tell you when the battery is getting low.

The Series 3 has a red led battery indicator that flashes when you plug it in, if the battery is good.

Interesting Steve,
Although I love all of Francis' devices ( I have all three) I've never had any luck matching them with either of my Walter Woods amps. They don't seem to play well with each other. When I insert it into the effects loop, the bass response thins out a bit to much for my tastes. I don't know just why that is exactly,
my guess it has something to do with the EQ section of the Woods and not the HPF. Using it into the inputs doesn't sound that satisfying either. Once agian the tone thins out as well. Just my experience, into any other of my amps the HPF sounds great.

actually come to think of it i've probably never used it with the walter woods, but i can try it to see how it works...

Steve,
If you get a chance to do that, I'd be interested in what you find out. I've just never been able to get that combination to work. I'm putting mine up for sale soon, so someone can have the opportunity to use one. Mine are just sitting on a shelf.
